Mountain Man is a softer Australian interpretation of Reblochon, the pungent washed rind from the French Alps where L’Artisan’s cheesemaker Mattieu Megard grew up. It is made from pasteurised organic milk from a single herd on the Great Ocean Road and ripened carefully for weeks. The result is an oozy and gently savoury cheese with a slightly pungent and crunchy rind. Mattieu has made a perfect washed rind for the Australian palate – smooth but substantial with its distinctive meaty, yeasty flavours.

 

A beer friendly cheese that pairs especially well with wheaty beers.  Also good with medium bodied reds, sparkling whites and wooded chardonnay.
